Sorry!

We are sorry that our blog has been inactive for a longer period. This is mostly because the students have all got there own individual blog, where they are expected to publish some of their task with reference to the school subjects. Furthermore they can publish texts of private interest.

unfortunately the students are not that eager to publish their texts, mostly due to the fact that they have realised that their audience is limited.

Blogging is an interesting activity, which can lead to a growing interest in studying a foreign language, but if you get no respond this interest can easily be minimized.

I sincerly hope that somebudy wil spent a little time reading and commenting on the students blogs.

About Jackie

In September 2007 we welcomed a new classmate in our class – Jackie the Rabbit. Therefore choosing a name for this blog wasn’t particularly difficult. Of course it would be perfect to name our class blog after our class pet.

The story goes like this:

The pupils wanted to have a class pet. After having discussed several suggestions; such as a snake, a spider, a tortoise, a hamster or a rabbit, we decided on having a rabbit.

As a stroke of luck some of the pupils met a girl who wanted to give her rabbit away, and before we could say Jack Robinson, we had a rabbit, a hutch, hay and litter.

The rabbit was 4 years old when we got her, and her former owner called her Jackie. Though the pupils had other names in mind, we decided to let her keep the name.

Jackie seems to be comfortable with her new home, especially when she is allowed to race around the classroom jumping over small objects standing in her way.

The pupils are pleased with their classmate and enjoy having her running around tickling their toes. Only when a thorough cleaning of the hutch is needed, they sometimes show displeasure.
